Calling out for musicians to perform with the Electro Jazz Orchestra at Future Sounds 2017, see below for more information:
My name's Rob and I'm studying on the MA Music course. I've got a performance lined up for Future Sound on the 17th with my group, Electro Jazz Orchestra. So far we're a group with 2 guitars, 1 Violin and myself on vocals.
Would you like to join us and rock out on your instrument of choice to some old hits? We're looking to fill in as many different sounds as possible so if there's any keys, brass players, vocalists or didgeridooists out there it would be fantastic if you could help us out with raising the vibes.
We've got a selection of some easy enough and fun cover songs that we're going to play through with some improvised pieces in between to create a continuous 40 minute set. Imagine a DJ made out of lots of instruments and playing some funk, rock and blues.
I know it's quite short notice now in terms of getting a lot of rehearsals in, but the main aim is to have a bit of fun and entertain ourselves along with the audience. We did something similar at the Preston Jam and had some folks join in on the day and it worked great with the material we've got.
We will be having a few more rehearsals in the Media Factory between now and the gig but I'm living very close to the uni so if anyone can't make those I can drop over anytime to go through the set.
If you would like to join in, get in touch with me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I can send you more details and the set list.
Contact Rob if you're interested!
